HOW CAN WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN?

STEP 1: NOMINATE!

Nominate a woman for the first historic female statue to be placed in Golden Gate Park.

Similar to the "Women on 20s" campaign that convinced the U.S. Treasury to put a woman's face on the $20 bill, the "Where My Ladies At" campaign is driven by the people, by YOU. Your ideas and inspiration fuel this!

All nominations will be considered for a finalist list. Some examples we've heard so far include: Maya Angelou, Rosa Parks, Harriet TubmanYuri Kochiyama, Aretha Franklin, Angela Davis, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Michelle Obama, Gloria Steinem, Frida KahloBillie Jean KingElizabeth Warren, Ada Lovelace.

STEP 2: VOTE! (not yet open)

Select the final nominee from the top candidates of nominees.

STEP 3: SIGN! (not yet open)

Based on the winning nominee, sign the petition to encourage the San Francisco Recreation & Park and the San Francisco Art Commission to add the first historic female statue in the park by 2030... almost 90 years after the "idealized" female statue (the Pioneer Mother Memorial) was placed in the park in 1940.
